Youth Big Band
The Big Band Workshop features an 18-piece Orchestra open to students around the North Shore ages 13 to 19 with at least 3 years of playing experience. Ensemble styles and offerings are dependent upon enrollment and vary each season. Performances will take place quarterly at various professional venues throughout the North Shore and will feature annual collaborations with Cape Ann Big Band, The Jazz Connect, and Jambalaya Horns.
OPEN TO: Vocals, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, bass, guitar, piano, and drum set.

Jazz Combo
The Jazz Combo Workshop is open to students ages 12 to 16 with at least 2 years of playing experience. In this workshop students will develop skills in both improvisation and small ensemble technique. Group size will vary upon enrollment. Participants will be exposed to all forms and styles ranging from Blues to Rhythm Changes. Weekly performance opportunities will be offered throughout Cape Ann for students to practice their developing technique!

Brass Band
The Brass Band Workshop is open to students ages 11 to 18 with at least 1 year of playing experience. In this workshop students will explore the New Orleans Brass Band tradition of horn-driven street music! Enrollment is open to all wind players - clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, flute, french horn, and tuba as well as percussionists/drummers. Arrangements will vary from traditional to funk and Hip Hop.
Performance opportunities will be scheduled quarterly around Cape Ann and feature collaborations with the Jambalaya Horns.

Groove Workshop
The Groove Workshop is open to students ages 11 to 18 with at least 2 years of playing experience. In this workshop students will explore music “off the charts” through collaboration without sheet music. Arrangements will be unique to the instrumentation and group membership. All styles of music will be explored!

Performance opportunities will be offered quarterly and feature multiple student ensembles.

Each of us has a unique voice in the realm of music! Using a combination of both my professional training and personal performance experience, it is my goal to provide each aspiring musician with the tools necessary for skill development and musical self-expression. Using classical theory, jazz innovation, and an exploration of various techniques and genre-types, it is my mission to provide each musician with the skills necessary in developing a voice that is uniquely original, confident, and expressive!
